Biography

Prof. Leung Yuk-ming, Lisa is an Associate Professor in the Department of Cultural Studies at Lingnan University, Hong Kong. She holds a DPhil from the University of Sussex and a BSocSc in Communications from Hong Kong Baptist University.

Her research expertise spans East Asian transnational popular culture, social media and fandom, and ethnic minority studies. Prof. Leung is particularly recognized for her work on the "tactical belonging" and media participation of South Asian minorities in Hong Kong. She has authored several influential books, including "Ethnic Minorities, Media and Participation in Hong Kong" (2021) and "Understanding South Asian Minorities in Hong Kong" (2014), and has received multiple awards for excellence in research and knowledge transfer.
