Biography

Kenny Wong is an independent artist and designer and established the creative studio Things That Move. He worked as a creative craftsman (Creative Technologist) in IOIO creative, and studied for a master's degree in Concordia University in Montreal, Canada, majoring in sculpture. He was a lecturer at the School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong in 2015.

Kenny Wong’s works explore the delicate relationship between daily experiences and perceptual stimulations by hybridising analogue and digital representations. Wong is interested in exploring visual patterns, motions, and sound textures, as well as presenting works in the form of computational kinetic sculptures. Wong actively works as a collaborating artist, multimedia designer, mechanical engineer/designer, and art researcher.

In recent years, he has also applied multimedia technology to different fields such as commercial exhibitions, art, and museums. His works have been exhibited in Hong Kong and overseas many times, including: Linz Electronic Arts Festival (Austria), WRO Media Art Biennale (Poland), FILE Electronic Arts Festival (Brazil), 404 Art Festival (Argentina), Seoul International Media Arts Festival (Korea), Pearl Lam Galleries (Hong Kong), Goethe-Institut (Hong Kong) and many international exhibitions. He was also awarded the 2014 Hong Kong Arts Development Council Young Artist Award (Media Arts Category), and was selected for the "Bloomberg Digital Arts Incubation Program 2013" (Hong Kong)
