Biography

Hong Kong theatre practitioner, actress, and Chinese and English drama instructor. Lau holds double master’s degrees, having graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (School of Drama) with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in 2003 and a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in 2010, majoring in Acting. She also graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Department of Modern Languages and Cultural Studies) with a Master of Arts (MA) in 2004, majoring in Intercultural Studies. While studying at HKAPA, she received a full scholarship in 2008 for her MFA studies from The Society of the Academy for Performing Arts (SAPA), as well as the “Excellence in Performing Arts” scholarship from China Resources (Holdings) Company Limited.

She has participated in performances such as The Last Five Years (Off-Broadway musical), A Woman Alone (solo performance by Franca Rame), Fiddler on the Roof (Broadway musical), La Demande d’emploi (French May Arts Festival theatre production), The Candy House Winter 2 (Make Friends with Puppet original musical), and A Daily Dose of Nostalgia (original musical by Musical Trio).

In addition to working across theatre and commercial productions, Lau teaches acting, voice, and musical theatre courses for children, teenagers, adults, and seniors across various theatre companies, schools, and organisations. She also works as a stage director.
