# Sham Chung Tat


## Biography
Sham holds a Master of Arts in Sound Studies and Sonic Arts from the Universität der Künste Berlin (UdK) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sound Design from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA). His artistic practice focuses on spatial audio, multichannel storytelling, and the translation of documentary material into sonic form.

In 2022, he co-founded the creative duo “Paperback Sketch” with Miu Law, debuting with *Executing the Stage*. He regularly collaborates with On & On Theatre Workshop on new writing and Theatre of Authenticity projects, serving as sound designer across multiple productions. His recent theatre credits include *In a Perfect World* and *With Love, Medea’s Boys*, in which he also served as co-writer and director.

Sham’s work in spatial audio composition received the Golden Prize at Europe’s Fifth Student 3D Audio Production Competition (Soundscape/Audio Drama). His multichannel sound work has been presented at Burning Man, Black Rock City (USA, 2022), and his sound installation *The Plague* was exhibited at the Hong Kong Pavilion of the Prague Quadrennial 2023.

Recent projects include the immersive sound theatre *Under Ground 땅밑에* (2024 & 2026), the 12-channel documentary sound installation *On My Way Home* (2024), and *Transverse* (2025), a 42-channel Ambisonics installation featuring an interactive audio journey.
